OUR POLICIES

Constitution / Governance Overview MUSC is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC).- Governance is provided by a board including Chairperson, Treasurer, and Secretary.- An AGM is held annually.- Sub-groups (e.g., Kabaddi for All) operate under MUSC’s governance structure.
Kabaddi for All – Constitution as an Unincorporated Group
1. Name of the Group
The name of the group shall be Kabaddi for All, operating under Mariners United Sporting Club CIC (MUSC).
2. Mission Statement
Kabaddi for All is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for individuals with autism and other neurodivergent conditions to engage in social sporting activities. Our primary objective is to foster trust, social interaction, and teamwork through the sport of Kabaddi, while supporting individuals in building relationships with peers and adults.
3. Purpose and Objectives
The purpose of Kabaddi for All is to offer a structured, accessible, and supportive space for neurodivergent individuals to participate in Kabaddi sessions and related activities. Our objectives are:

To provide weekly Kabaddi sessions for individuals with autism and other neurodivergent conditions.

To promote inclusivity, social skills, trust-building, and teamwork in a safe sporting environment.

To ensure that each session is appropriately supervised with safeguarding officers, coaches, parents, carers, and other appropriate adults.

To create an environment where participants can interact freely with adults and peers in a social, supportive, and fun atmosphere.

To collaborate with local authorities, care providers, and support organizations to offer one-to-one or group support to participants.

To raise funds for the program through various fundraising activities, with financial responsibility held by MUSC.

To provide an opportunity for neurodivergent individuals to experience social inclusion through sport.
4. Membership
-
Membership to Kabaddi for All is open to individuals who are neurodivergent, including those with autism spectrum disorders or other related conditions, and their families or carers.

All participants must be registered with the group before attending any sessions.

Membership is available to any individual who shares the group’s values and mission.

Membership fees, if applicable, will be determined by the group’s committee and approved by MUSC.
5. Governance Structure
The group shall be governed by a committee, which will oversee the operation of all activities and ensure the group's adherence to its mission and objectives. The committee will consist of:

Chairperson: Responsible for chairing meetings, overseeing operations, and representing the group.

Treasurer: Responsible for managing financial records, fundraising efforts, and ensuring the group operates within budgetary constraints, with financial oversight held by MUSC.

Safeguarding Officer (Co-opted): Responsible for ensuring that all safeguarding policies are followed during sessions, and that participant welfare is maintained at all times.

Additional Coaches/Volunteers (Co-opted): Other committee members, including coaches, carers, and parents, who assist with the running of the program and provide necessary support to participants.
The committee members will be elected annually by the members of Kabaddi for All, with nominations open to any registered member.
6. Meetings

The group shall hold an annual general meeting (AGM) to discuss the group’s performance, finances, objectives, and future plans.

The group will also hold regular meetings, at least quarterly, to plan activities, review progress, and discuss any issues or concerns.

All meetings will be open to members and stakeholders, including parents and carers.
7. Safeguarding

A safeguarding officer will be present at all sessions.
-
All volunteers and coaches will be appropriately vetted, including having enhanced DBS checks and safeguarding training.

The safeguarding officer will be responsible for ensuring that all activities comply with safeguarding procedures and that any concerns are reported and addressed in accordance with MUSC’s safeguarding policy.

Parents, carers, and appropriate adults must be present for all sessions to ensure the safety and well-being of participants.
8. Fundraising and Financial Oversight

Kabaddi for All will raise its own funds through various means, including but not limited to donations, grants, fundraising events, and sponsorship.

All funds raised will be used exclusively for the activities and development of the group.

The financial responsibility for the group will be held by MUSC, which will provide oversight of all financial transactions and ensure transparency in budgeting and reporting.

The group will maintain accurate financial records and will provide annual reports to MUSC.

Fundraising efforts will be led by the committee, with input from group members and stakeholders.
09. Code of Conduct
All members, coaches, volunteers, and stakeholders are expected to adhere to the following code of conduct:

Treat all participants, carers, and fellow volunteers with respect and dignity.

Ensure that all actions are in the best interests of the participants and the group.
-
Promote inclusivity and respect for diversity.
-
Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns promptly.
-
Adhere to the values and mission of Kabaddi for All.
10. Dissolution
In the event that the group is dissolved, any remaining funds and assets will be transferred to MUSC for use in community-based programs that support neurodivergent individuals or to another charity or community group with similar objectives.
11. Amendment of the Constitution
The constitution may be amended or revised by the committee, provided the changes are approved by the majority of the group members. All amendments must be reported to MUSC for final approval.
12. Miscellaneous

Kabaddi for All will operate as a group within MUSC, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures set forth by MUSC, including those regarding safeguarding, financial management, and inclusion.

All sessions and activities will be inclusive and accessible, ensuring the well-being and safety of participants.
This constitution has been adopted by the committee of Kabaddi for All on 10/04/2025.

1. Safeguarding PolicyMUSC is committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of all children, young people, and vulnerable adults involved in its activities.- All coaches and volunteers are DBS-checked.- A named Safeguarding Lead is appointed.- All concerns must be reported using MUSC’s safeguarding form and escalated appropriately.- No adult is to be alone with a child or vulnerable person unless in an emergency.
2. Health & Safety PolicyMUSC ensures a safe environment during all sessions, events, and activities.- Risk assessments are carried out before each event.- A qualified first aider is present at every session.- Emergency contacts and incident forms are available on site.- Equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
3. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) PolicyMUSC values diversity and welcomes participants from all backgrounds.- Discrimination of any kind is not tolerated.- Inclusive formats are offered where needed (e.g., Kabaddi for All).- Coaches receive equality and inclusion awareness training.
4. Volunteer & Coach Code of Conduct- Respect all players, parents, and staff.- Follow safeguarding and H&S policies at all times.- Be a positive role model on and off the field.- Report any concerns immediately to the Safeguarding Lead.
5. Data Protection Policy (GDPR)- All data collected (e.g., registration forms) is stored securely.- Only authorised personnel have access to personal data.- We do not share data with third parties without consent.- Data is reviewed and disposed of annually.
6. Complaints PolicyMUSC promotes open communication.- Complaints should be raised initially with the Chairperson.- All complaints are acknowledged within 5 working days.- Formal complaints are logged and reviewed by the management committee.- Confidentiality is respected throughout the process.
7. Financial Management Policy- All funds are held in MUSC’s Community Bank Account.- A minimum of two authorised signatories is required for payments.- Financial records are updated monthly and reviewed quarterly.- An annual financial report is shared at the AGM.
8. Media & Photography Policy- Consent is obtained for any photography or video involving children.- Photos used for publicity must reflect MUSC values and be appropriate.- Parents/carers may request images be removed or not used.
9. Social Media Policy- Only designated administrators may post on official MUSC platforms.- Posts must be respectful, inclusive, and reflect our values.- No personal data (e.g., names of minors) will be posted without consent.- Breaches may result in removal from the group and further action.
